Are you new to CUPE, or want a refresher on being in our union? This self-directed online course will help get you oriented and informed.
In this course, you will learn:
- All about the CUPEverse
- What it means to be a CUPE member
- How CUPE builds a better workplace, community and world
- CUPE’s structure and governance, from the local to the national
- Understanding collective bargaining, collective agreements and grievances
- Worker health and safety, political action and social movements
- Worker rights and freedoms
- How CUPE fits into the larger Canadian labour movement, and
- The many ways to get involved
Lessons include video, readings and links to other resources. Some include quizzes and optional assignments. You can explore the lessons in any order.
Throughout this course, you will see links to other learning opportunities from Union Education, including CUPE workshops that you can take online and in-person.
