Gender Pronouns

Proper pronouns is about respect and solidarity

Read this short text, adapted from Max Masure:

We all have the right to be addressed in a way that reflects our gender identity. This is true whether we are cisgender (someone whose gender corresponds the sex they were assigned at birth), or transgender (someone whose gender does not).

For a cisgender person, sharing pronouns is a simple, risk-free way to support non-binary or transgender people. For a transgender person, asking others to use their pronoun can be risky or even dangerous.

Sharing gender pronouns creates a safer, more inclusive environment for everyone. That’s why your union encourage all its members to share their proper, personal pronouns.

When we do that, we show respect and build solidarity.
